Well .. watch the movie as a merely an inspiration rather as an exact adaptation of the novel.. creative liberties have been taken on the narrative as such ..
The first half was good !! Of course a much younger Karthi would have been convincing as a more handsome Vandhiyathevan, but this one keeps us in splits !!!
Be it the flirty or the quirky or the witty, Karthi excels indeed !!
But second half was poorly or rather vaguely conceived .. I expected the narrative to be more emphasizing the ethical warfare of cholzha or atleast something to throw some light on the Raja raja cholan. Not sure why a titanic similar bow and stern break and wreckage was filmed in length 🤔🤔🤔
I never saw the “chol” song .. also the poonkuzhali song was cut short while rest of the songs took their space in first half leaving the second half even more soggy (cos of the fights in water 😂🤣😅) and saggy ( cos of the shoddy narrative)
Pros :
* Karthi’s histrionics
* Aish as Nandhini
* Jeyaram as Alwarkadiyan
* Impressive art directions
* Visually appealing
Cons:
* Second half narration
* Jeyam Ravi wasn’t impressive as Arulmozhi
