If I may say, I was an early and integral part in the formation of this volume, from the vast amt. of reference material, I xeroxed and my love of classical old languages to help translate for author all ancient references to cannabis and hemp. i first wrote to the author May 21st, 1996, addressing questions I had on an old b/w poster, w/ a bud, in the middle, surrounded by numerous figures in ancient history, who all partook of ze' herb, in one form or another. From that day, he received my letter, 'til he published this volume we corresponded w/ each other quite a bit. One one of his packages to me was intercepted, torn open, searched, man handled and possibly missing material, etc...all at the height of the failed Drug war, when they were pursuing Mark Emery, in Canada, my friend Kathleen, for making hemp Chips that were "literally" flyin' off the shelves, in all the local King Sooper's Stores and all other outlets that carried her Hemp Chips! My entire house is one huge library, with volumes dating back to the 1680's. All these volumes have been handed down from both sides of my family, for generations!.One whole room in my house is just devoted to drugs, cannabis, and the volumes all signed for me by ones like: Jack Herer, Chris Conrad, Timothy Leary, Ram Dass,Aldous Huxley, Dr. Lester Grinspoon, Howard Zinn, Ed Rosenthal, Ken Kesey, Joseph Heller, et al. My goal now is to share this wealth of material, being a part of the formation and birth of "Sex Drugs, Violence and the Bible", published: May, 2001. Sincerely. jda II. (Aum ah Hung).
