The pure Lee Child series is,by and large, pacy and contains a tidy amount of action, sufficient certainly to satisfy the average reader's need for excitement. This latest effort, however,a combined production by Lee and brother Andrew,is altogether in a lower league. It lacks direction and energy. Action is often substituted by tedious and unnecessary lengthy sections of description.
Where Lee's offerings are invariably page turners, this ,The Sentinel, tempted me to close the book completely.
