I was about to give a very inarticulate but positive review but the very eloquent Belinda Stotler (a few reviews down) has put into words the review I wished to write - I agree wholeheartedly with this review. The film was pitiful, this miniseries was a masterpiece. The actors were excellent and perfect for the roles, unlike the film. That is all, enjoy.

I think this is one of Jennifer Lopez's better films - it's pretty underrated. I think she did well and didn't get enough credit. It is unrealistic in that women in this situation don't often have a rich long lost family member to help them and they wouldn't have Slim's courage and confidence to fight their way out but I think the film had everything, it was sad and uplifting at the same time. It has an amazing song by Aimee Mann on it too, I can't stop listening to it. I loved this film and have already seen it 3 times.
