I’ve read every single novel in the Gabriel Allon series and enjoyed each one immensely. How surprising and disappointing, then, to discover the author’s personal world view and political biases dripping all over this story. Okay, Silva doesn’t like the Catholic Church or political conservatism, but I wish he had kept them out if what could have been an intriguing story. Sad to say, I’m done with Mr. Allon.
