The reasons why the Middle is the best American sitcom are: 1. It makes us embrace the variables of average and failure.For instance, it is okay to not be the winner always. 2.Fosters family values like no other show: The Heck family tells us ,"You do for family .You also don't do for family".Family as a unit cheers and depresses at the same time. 2. Every episode rings the bell of hope and optimism. 3.Brilliant storyline : There is enough humour for one to laugh out loud and the right amount of emotions to melt the heart.At least produce a feel good effect! 4.Excellent characterisation: All the characters replicate various personalities we find in our daily lives. No protagonists or antagonists at all.( Sadly ,this makes Indian soap operas look dumber than ever!) I wish I had met at least one of the characters in real life. 5.Uber acting: No actor has ever pulled the strings of the character like the actors in The Middle did. Lastly, the show ran for nine years. A viewer would watch the actors grow and mature through the skin of their character. This means the serial could connect one deeply enough to believe that somewhere in some corner of the world , the Hecks existed while being watched and loved by a pair of eyes donning the role of an omniscient observer.
