The book started off fine but I began to lose interest after the first "twist". The book itself felt too drawn out. Example: if the character is interacting with someone, you will not read a response from the other person until two pages later.
The reason being is because the writer draws out everything with unnecessary and mudane descriptions and sometimes boring flashbacks.
This book literally had cliffhangers about a a bottle of expensive wine...rich people problems and just so boring.
I did not care for any of the characters, not even for the people in the flashbacks. The writers even managed to make a pet dog boring. 😴
Another reason I could not get into this book was because the main character was so unlikable with her obsessions and fixations. And I just don't care for books where the women neglect everything, including their freinds because they are sooo in love.
(WARNING: SPOLIER ALERT!!)
Lastly, I still can't figure out how the character constantly fixated on Richard as if she were still in love with him, yet after the twist, we find out she was really trying to just save the new wife from him.
How do they explain how she seemed so torn as if she was still in love with him at the beginning or how she was so distraught on not getting pregnant by him...?
Why did she go out her way for him to have an affair with an unsuspecting woman if she was going to "save" the woman anyway? Why the change of heart?
So confusing, and the main character depressed me.
Meh, thank goodness I just borrowed this book from the library.
