Bridgerton: Season Two...A Disappointment!
Sadly, Season Two could not measure up to the sensation that was Season One. The chemistry of the stars in Season One was amazing as were all the supporting roles as well as the dialog. Season Two's lead actor, Jonathan Bailey as Anthony Bridgerton seemed to be trying his best against an immovable tide. There is absolutely no chemistry between he and his co-star Simone Ashley as Kate Sharma, and very little of anything at all coming from Ashley. Her performance is robotic and uninspired. The resulting "romance" is forced and clumsy.
Younger sister Edwina played by Charithra Chandran would have been a better choice for Kate Sharma. The actress is very much alive and authentic.
The most interesting storylines, however, are between Claudia Jessie as the delightful Eloise, and Nicola Coughlan as her secretive friend, Penelope Featherton. The brothers Bridgerton, Mother Bridgerton (Lady Violet), Lady Danbury, and Lady Portia give their usual wonderful performances.
