Very moving, very well-done film. As the mother of a daughter in the LGBTQ+ community, I learned a lot watching this film. Highly recommend it.

5 hours I will never get back. I had to force myself through this series, because Oscar Isaac and Jessica Chastain are two very fine actors. But the writing. The endless whining and self-absorbed carrying-on, the mostly unlikeable and spectacularly selfish characters, the glacial pace of the self indulgent and endless "unpacking" of emotional states. The coy self-reverence of the meta-conceit of the beginning of each scene. An academic's wet dream. Not clever, just confusing and disorienting. Even the sex was weirdly unengaging for happening between two such very attractive people. I rolled my eyes. A lot. I muttered "oh boo-f'ing-hoo" to the tv screen more than once. I saw the original when I was in college. My very liberal (at the time) parents made a huge fuss about how brilliant it was. The original film very well might have been groundbreaking at the time, but this version is just tiresome as all get-out. For the record, I've been married and I've been divorced. It's the ninth circle of hell; divorce. No-one comes away unscathed. This series turns the very real agony of divorce into some sort of voyeuristic exercise. Made me want to take a very long shower.

Very engaging for the first 4 episodes. The last 2 episodes are a serious mess. You can almost feel the film descending into a steaming mosh pit of plot twists that defy credulity. Really liked it until those last 2 episodes. When it ended, I thought "such a promising start, such a truly deeply madly stupidly ridiculous ending." I wholeheartedly agree with everything the Variety reviewer says in his review of this film. Will absolutely NOT be watching Season 2 (if there is one). I can't get those 6 hours from Season 1 back, so why in the name of all that's hippie dippy and astrally projected would I watch Season 2?

Really a lot of fun. Melodramatic writing, lots of scenery chewing by the actors, cheesy score-what's not to like? Frankly, and with all due respect, John Travolta does Nicholas Cage much better than Nicholas Cage does John Travolta. I've seen this movie more than once, and each time I have had to say to myself, "Okay this is Nicholas Cage acting as John Travolta when he's actually Nicholas Cage, and that's John Travolta acting like Nicholas Cage when he's actually John Travolta." Horrifying and often (unintentionally?) laugh out loud funny, this film makes eye-rolling a spectator sport. And that poor teenage girl (John Travolta's character' daughter)is going to need therapy for the rest of her life. Took one star off for the endless fight/explosion scenes. Bore pie with snore sauce.

So...S-L-O-W... Trying to stick with it, but really really struggling. Plus which, as much as she tries, I'm not finding Melissa Barrera particularly believable. It's a good premise, but the glacial pacing is like slogging through molasses. In January. In Minnesota.

Very thoughtful and weirdly timely. Very moving. I enjoyed it. Will have to think on it some more. Really inventive mix of animation styles. Engaging on several levels: cerebral, aural and visual. Worth watching. And then, maybe, watching again.

The writing is chilling, cautionary, entirely believable and absolutely stunning. Likewise the acting. Came upon this series by accident (saw an ad for it while watching Big Little Lies), and am so glad to have found it. Much better than Black Mirror, which also is about a dystopian tech-driven society. Twisty, dark and (at times) worrisome, this a great series. I am only sorry that there are only 2 episodes left for me to watch. Very, very well done!

I laughed (every other line) out loud, I cried (once because finale song), I bought the soundtrack. Well, maybe not that last one. This movie was clearly made with love by theatre people, about theatre people and for theatre people. I started my "theatre kid" life in the 5th grade with The Wizard of Oz, and was a high school drama teacher for 35 years. I loved this movie. It's an unexpectedly touching and very, very funny parody of an art form- and the artists who create it-that has been around as long as humans have been walking this planet. And for those who found this film to be unfunny, a waste of time, or pushing some political agenda that they don't happen to agree with; bless your ignorant little hearts. It's a theatre thing, you wouldn't understand.
