I really did not find it realistic for the situation. Too many attempts to connect it to the original movies. Tried too hard to make the main characters likable. Snow should of been executed in the beginning. His friend should of been executed as well. It doesn't make sense for their government to not shut down acts of rebellion on sight, especially in the early stages. I do love the story but it's hard to put away the fact that for the situation provided.. it's unrealistic for them of allowed such clear acts of treason. Same with Lucy Grey singing when she is being reaped, they never would of let that happen.. it's a act of rebellion. Snow should of never been able to 'bribe' his way into District 12, there is no way they would of allowed that or let that happen under the table without knowing. They KNOW he would of wanted to go there, so they would of done everything in their power to make sure he wasn't close. They also tried too hard to connect to the original hunger games. Yes the song could absolutely of been passed down. Having her name a plant katniss, and that magically means the name is passed down 40-50 year to where Katniss is named after it? Also.. I did feel like they could of done a better story independent of Snow. Using a peacekeeper. I have a strong feeling they are going to connect Lucy Grey to the downfall of district 13, and make her even more of a stronger connection to the original books. Because the story itself can not stand alone without piggybacking them. I felt like the story dragged on too long.
