Not the worst read... • Great pacing • A handful of engaging characters. • Some intriguing world building but none of the most interesting elements get enough page time. • Tropey Sci-fi dialog (Think Starship Troopers) • Extremely well penned action sequences! It’s not by any means a bad read, if you knowingly engage with it as you would a late night B movie then you’ll be satisfied. The overall vibe of the book makes complete sense when you read the Afterword. Paolini’s honesty regarding the laboured conception of the book definitely helps to soften the edge of criticism.
