I watched one episode and could immediately tell the show was not created by a latinx writer. As a Mexican-American raised in Los Angeles, I found so much of the "Mexican folklore" in this show to be so inaccurate and cheesy. For this reason I could not watch past the 1st episode. Disappointed because I was a fan of the original Penny Dreadful show but if you're going to make a show based off of Mexican-American folklore and feature Mexican-American characters set in L.A., do it right. Was glad to hear the show was cancelled after 1 season. It's time to stop funding such weakly written shows.
