I’ll be vague as to not give any spoilers but: Overall an ok show. Definitely have to trudge through some melodramatic overacting and some bad dialogue choices that reflect more on Disney than on Star Wars. Great cinematography and acting from all the returning cast from Episode I-III. A bit of a let down but still worth the watch.

Very slow, the jokes just didn’t deliver, and the plot took a while to get anywhere. It felt like they relied too heavily on Star power to make this a watchable movie but it’s still just lacking.

I’m not looking for a remake of the original so I was expecting something new and different. However, this first season was full of bad acting and poor, lackluster dialogue. Everyone in it was either overacting or under-acting. I get that this has a lot of new faces that aren’t well known but this might not have been the right choice. I found it hard to believe I was watching the Avatar show I’d been waiting years for. Instead, it felt like I was watching a cheap high school rendition of something vaguely Avatar themed. Just as well, the outfits looked cheap on screen, like you could tell they were made from cheap linen and plastic. I imagine a lot of money went into VFX instead, which did make these 8 episodes more palatable, but it wasn’t enough. So much more could’ve been done with the plot, acting, dialogue, and outfits to make it feel more realistic and convincing. Real fans weren’t asking for a frame for frame remake of the original, but we weren’t asking for this either. We deserved better.

If I could give it less than a 1 star I would. And yes I’ve watched it. Save yourself the trouble and try watching grass grow instead- it’s far more edifying than this.

A lot of it made Thor seem incompetent and more of a joke than he started out as. There was surprisingly a lot of talks of orgies and sexuality that I wasn’t prepared for in a movie that is 1) set in a Disney style universe where families go with their children and 2) it’s supposed to be an action movie and those kinds of unnecessary lingering on points that don’t add to the progression of the plot just make the film hard to watch. Great effects but all in all I wouldn’t watch it again. It was a very cluttered awkward way of telling a story.
