Chaos Ordeal

OK, which of the three writers is being held back by the other two? I suspect it's not any of the Please Don't Hit Me boys, who assemble to form yet another clueless man-boy who learns that an adequate career on SNL can lead to a few lazy movie paydays. Their characters are SOOO ZANY that they think it's okay to turn up to work three hours late! So their cantankerous boss fires them. Or he challenges them to do something, I don't know -- I had already checked out and this was only five minutes into the movie. When I saw that ads, I thought, "why is that movie title so long and terrible?" and "is this for kids?" The answer to both questions is: "who cares, omg turn that movie off!" Another lazy flick by SNL cast members that makes you re-think whether they even belong on SNL. I would literally prefer to watch A Night At The Roxbury again. Oh, it feels good to wash away the eye-and-ear pain by bashing this pos on the internet.

Nathan Fielder is a strikingly smart guy who has special talents and a unique style. He's a genius. But he's not a comedy genius. He builds unwieldy traps that reveal humanity, often at its weakest. But, Fielder always works it out so he ends up in the trap right along with whoever else gets sucked in. He reveals some sorry people, but mostly he reveals himself. A quietly angry guy who has a particularly grim view of humanity. A humorless view of humanity. I don't know what his special talent is. Writing for TV -- almost. I feel for the guy, but I hate watching his TV shows. The dude makes my skin crawl, and that's what he's into, which only makes it worse. When I am reminded that Nathan Fielder makes TV shows, I literally derive pleasure from thinking about how I didn't have to watch them.

Started solid, waned a bit. Uneven but watchable.

Schwarzenegger and Mr. Bean play emotionally complex characters. The casting fits the scripts.

I love it I hate it It's weird -- that's the best part by far The creature rituals are cool, but so clumsily incorporated, and each little creature makes no sense. The action sequences suck (despite the animation). "Good thing I have this gun so I can tackle you and we can fight over it!"-kinda stuff. The big, indomitable guy who can kill with a thought has trouble bringing down quarry. Why do TV shows love doing this?

This might be the combination of the best game with the worst mechanisms that I have ever played. The world is interesting, though painfully one of those the-blue-key-leads-to-the-red-key games. The piloting is bad, despite requiring the player to perch at the very edge of platforms. Literally some items will not work if they are one game-world inch out of place, and moving your ship accurately, or in small increments, is not possible. If you enjoy parallel parking busses, this game is for you. Player navigation -- well, I'll just say that the devs built in a "Unstuck" feature rather than making the navigation work correctly. The main tutorial can easily run you into a wall because you don't have a resource that you need to continue. I like the scenario and the ideas behind the mechanisms, but my fun is being constantly sucked away by dreary chores and clumsy travel.

Hands down John Candy's best movie. Funny throughout, great actors, solid performances. More laughs than any other Candy movie, and more willing to go "out there" for a bit. Not totally perverse, but not for the little kiddies.

Wildly underrated very consistently funny movie. Too many comedies try to float by on being "cute" or family friendly. That stuff is fine, but there's only one real measure of a comedy for me: laughter. How much did I laugh? Where there long sections without any laughs? This movie made me laugh big, plenty of times, throughout, and I always like seeing Dave Foley at work. It's a bit dumb, but the dumb fuels the funny rather than detracting, so it's all good.

Surprisingly sweet. Surprisingly smutty for an R-rated film. Funny. Great cast. Not for children, not for adults who think like children.
