One hundred percent worth the watch.
Having rewatched the first three movies right before this, my only explanation for any review that claims "this film does not do the series justice" has clearly forgotten what the films actually were, and are merely stuck in their idealized memories from when they were first released. You could say they are happily living in their own matrix.
Maybe they were expecting excessive CGI, or maybe they just had their hides hurt that they fall into the category of sheeple that this movie aims to make a point of. My most prominent theory is that the Warner Sisters union mafia gave bonuses for proof of 1 star reviews to their employees because they didn't get the rights to turn this marvel of genius into a crudshow mainstream piece of nonsense just to appease the new generations, like they ruined sequels of other classical sagas. Either way, the movie is phenomenal, the spin is fantastic, and I could not have asked for anything better.
Anybody wishing to have their mind blown should watch the full series. Anybody not prepared for the real-world subliminal analogies should continue with jumping on the bandwagon of one-star review bots. Doesn't change the levels of epic this movie has perpetuated.
Spoiler warning :
the acting is a little cheesy at times, and some of the characters take a while to get used to again (agent Smith left me wishing he would slow down his speech a tad for the dramatic effect, could not help but imagine the lines delivered in the cadence of the original Smiths) but the 20 year long nostalgic build-up can hardly be supressed by any actor, and as is common in most long-awaited sequels, is utilized fashionably and warm-heartedly. One who does not have a plug up their hole cannot help but appreciate and admire the sincerity of the cast, including (and especially) their microexpressions.
Truly a tasteful treat of television. Let none sway your opinion before you experience this masterpiece for yourself. I hate bots.
