The album art was exciting to see, a throwback to The Offspring's glory days with their hit album 'Smash' released way back in 1994, with the iconic skeleton Xray album art. That is where any semblance starts and ends abruptly unfortunately, as 'Supercharged' fails to capture the raw energy of 90's or even 2000's Offspring. Nostalgia aside, yes the guitars, drums and vocals sound fine. But as the intro sections lead into the meat and bones of the album, one is faced with tired riffs, lacklustre lyrics, recycled material and strange misplaced effects. This album is mediocre at best. There are maybe two songs that are ok, but still forgettable, with no stand outs really and the rest is a mess. In fact, this album is as if Smash was rewritten by an AI that was heavily influenced by Disney. The Offspring are really showing their age with this one and teetering on the edge of becoming entirely irrelevant. I loaded up Smash just to make sure I hadn't lost my mind, and no, I haven't lost it. Supercharged just ain't great at all. In fact, in my opinion it could be one of the band's worst outings.
