Ok first I see a lot of hate for certain aspects not being the way they were originally in the cartoon versions..mainly alot about Deuce and Cleo not dating...First thing is They are reintroducing this to a new generation of kids..NOT for people who were kids 15 years ago...Times are very different in society over the last couple years and MH is trying to go with them (as an inclusive brand) My daughter is 8 and has the new dolls and also has watched the old cartoons, and she loves the movie and wants to watch it more ,but we dont have paramount. we will be getting the DVD and she is excited for the new movie in oct...as an adult and knowing Deuce is a gorgon (the glasses are a pretty important thing to leave out)..But my daughter didnt care or point that out..These characters are school kids and school kids break up an date other kids all the time (happens in other school kid based shows as well, ands to the drama) This movie is basically starting over its not supposed to be the established group you know, Clawdeen is just now getting to the school and characters are just getting started, as it progresses maybe things will be more like the old show portrayed things...Personally I enjoyed watching the movie with my daughter (Im in my 50s) I choose Monster High for her over Barbie because of the inclusive nature of the characters, being different color, being more goth looking, not teaching kids they have to be a certain cookie cutter standard of good looking..
