On one hand the technical direction and the response to that from the actors is superb. But this isn't theatre as i truly recognise it. There is virtually no depth to the characters, only constant exposition- as someone else put, they're basically reading from a Wikipedia page for Lehmans.
Honestly it's like a Netflix documentary. For nearly 3 1/2 hours...
I give it two stars because the actors have to show extraordinary stamina and focus to portray this. But honestly it's a glossy but hollow documentary.(not to mention missing much of the 2008 crash which is the reason 90% of the audience will have heard of Lehmans), which leaves your brain fried by the end. It feels like something you have to "go through" rather than explore.
