Completely different message, and characters from the book. Many of the conversations taking place in this movie are so far away from the actual original writing, and totally change the character’s opinions and attitudes towards things. Within 5 minutes the entire meaning of the book was destroyed. I was so excited to watch it because Persuasion is my favorite book - this has absolutely destroyed it. A new movie is needed that truly reflects the depth of this story and it’s characters. This is an alright story, but not an adaptation of the original book
