Disappointing. Two of the main characters, Jim and Eilis, are so indecisive and weak that they drift into a relationship without seeming to know why they are together. Given that Eilis betrayed Jim years earlier and is Jim is now secretly engaged to another woman, it seems he might have done even a little self analysis to discover why he is so keen to chuck it all to follow Eilis to America. The end was fitting to the narrative of the book, which ended abruptly and without explanation. I wasn’t sorry for it to end.
