This is an average movie. You won’t hate it, but there just isn’t anything to love. If you’ve got nothing else to watch, sure, why not?
What works: I like Sandra Bullock, and that likeability shines through. While she odors a decent job, her dramatic acting goes way over the top , especially toward the end, but by then you’re invested. The best parts were lifted from World War Z and A Quiet Place.
What Doesn’t: The plot is just way too predictable, and the characters way too cliche’. It’s like they used a film school textbook on how to move a plot along. If you think it’s going to happen, it does. The ending seems contrived and manufactured, like they needed to create suspense and wrap it up. Also, the sheer number of close calls and improbabilities shatters your suspension of disbelief.
