It was nice to be reminded that super hero movies can still be silly and uplifting. It's great to see Shazam finally getting a chance to shine. In DC's stable, he's always been relegated to the kid's table. Rather than trying to make yet another grim, gritty movie, they leaned into the kid's table motif and made an enjoyable film that will have the whole family laughing.
