If you are a fan of the original Twister movie, save your money. This one parodies the original so much, it's laughable. Sadly, it doesn't do it in a good way.
I'll be as vague as possible to avoid spoilers...hopefully. You have a character who leaves the chasing scene and is brought back on a temporary basis. She even says, "I'm not back."
In almost every scene, you can see how they basically ripped off scenes from the first movie. For example, instead of being at a drive in movie, they're at a rodeo. And instead of getting into a car bay at a nearby auto shop and having a car thrown at them. They get into an unfilled pool that just happens to have a section cut out, exposing pipes they could hang onto. Then, a horse trailer is thrown at them at leans over them in a way that protects them from the tornado.
The main idea of the first was to fly the sensors from Dorothy into the tornado to get info for better warning systems. A totally plausible goal. This movie's goal was to pump chemicals into a tornado to stop it. You can't stop a tornado. But, in the spirit of embracing the impossible, the chemicals they came up with were supposed to stop an EF1. But main character girl, drives a truck into an EF5 to use the chemicals to save the town. This major tornado was ripping buildings off foundations, but the two 6" augers she buried into the ground are supposed to hold her truck in place. Yeah, ok.
If you want to watch this one, wait for it to stream on some app. Spending theater money will probably update you. If my son hadn't been watching the Deadpool Wolverine movie in the theater next door, I would've walked out of this one.
