‘Stylish with Jenna Lyons’ has really effected my attitude toward external expression.
After watching all eight episodes I created twelve outfits from my wardrobe. All of them laid out on the floor: tops, bottoms, shoes and a couple of scarves and hats. I keep accessories to a purse, a few pieces of gold jewelry and a signature necklace. After designing a few outfits I noticed I wanted to socialize. The newly paired items really expanded my options and gave an updated look to my appearance. I also realized having style does not mean glamming up, spending money or sacrificing my personal style - it is all about self expression.
In interior design I learned again it is about self expression and also about enjoying the space. I came to appreciate my eclectic style reflected in a few modern high quality pieces, blended with my Great Aunt’s cherry dinning room set, a stone fireplace, wood floors, items collected from my travels to South America and India, and tons of sliding doors and open space. What my home lacks is the unifying elements you demonstrated. Rugs and curtains will be a perfect addition and hopefully will manifest.
I have a more positive attitude and have started a trash bag for the old worn out dregs. I will no longer be held down by a lack of style or a lack of courage to express myself. I’m looking forward to more content.
Thank you. I wish you the best in your endeavors.
