I must say that at the beginning of this series, I was a bit nervous. Us Austen fans can be very protective. After watching, I think the second episode, I was annoyed. Seemed to stray to far away from her style of doing things. However, I continued to watch and found that I liked it better! Though at times a bit choppy, all of the actors did a fantastic job as there characters developed. That being said,... I can't believe Mr. Davies gambled away our happy ending on the "hopes" of a second season. One that now seems to be impossible. Very disappointed with the ending! A second season would be necessary for redemption. This reminds me of another show that aired on PBS, Mercy Street. It ended abruptly at the end of season two. Very, bitter/sweet!
