This movie combines fast paced action scenes, careful character development, natural motivations, a smooth and thrilling plot, and Christian themes all into one movie. I was a huge fan and I thought something this movie did extremely well was tie up what was initially assumed to be a loose end. A character would do or say something that was questionable, and later in the movie this action would be referenced again, and it was done brilliantly to capture the viewer and spark our minds. A theme that summed up this movie would be, The wrath of the world comes quick to those who do not follow God. Or, Those who live for earthly things will die knowing their life was a waste. One thing I found fascinating, was that Edmund, or the Count of MonteCristo, was unique in the fact that he did not cling to God as a last hope. When prisoners rot in jail, often they will hope God is real so that they can be saved. Edmund was quite the opposite. He believed in God and lived by his teachings before Prison, but then revoked God while in prison because only the motivation of revenge could keep him alive. After his revenge is taken out however, he comes back to God in thanks, cherishing what God had given him.
