I was pleasantly surprised by this movie. It didn't have huge development in the relationship of Ezra and Amira but it firmly tapped on the window, and then just opened the front door and walked in, on a lot of real issues in black america. Casting was amazing, aesthetics and costume were amazing. No it's not Oscar worthy, but it's a solid feel good, real topics, romcom-dramedy. A certain type of white person will be mad at it, but that's good. Maybe eventually they'll look in the mirror if we knock on their windows long enough. Was also fully proud of Eddie Murphy's acting. He did a really good job, I forgot he was Eddie Murphy the comedian which doesn't happen often, even in other serious roles he's had.
