I absolutely adore this show. It's raw, realistic, and unflinchingly brutal. As someone hailing from the North of Italy, I was already familiar with the Camorra, but this series opened my eyes to just how merciless it can be. The actors deliver outstanding performances, the script is flawlessly executed, and the storyline is gripping. The set design captures every detail, from the authentic to the delightfully cheesy, kitsch furniture I've only ever seen in English shops selling "Italian" decor - something I used to chuckle at, thinking we didn't have such furniture style in our homes.
Interestingly, the show is presented not in Italian, but in the Neapolitan dialect. This required me to rely on subtitles, making it feel like I was watching something in an entirely unknown language. If you're a fan of this series, I'd venture to say you'll likely fall in love with "Suburra," a show set in Rome that delves into the world of organized crime and its connections with the Vatican and the Sicilian Mafia. Ace!
