Maybe I'm missing the point, but the acting lacked everything. I see how much other reviewers are ate up with the story and the effects - but with lousy acting it's just a 75 minute commercial.

Viviene Lyra Blair made the movie for me. I feared she was doomed from the start & I felt that she knew it too. In the final boat scene when who would have to "look" was at issue - I thought I saw in her eyes that she didn't have a chance. Hopelessness and sorrow. Heartbreaking.

The director went out of his way not to get to the point. Pure sensationalism. Well acted, but beneath the craft. The meaning (if there was a meaning) will occur only to those who care to find meaning. For everyone else, it's a ride to nowhere.
