Tbh, before I watch this series I read most of the reviews here. But this is not the first Islamic historical drama series that I watch. I have had watch Muhteşem Yüzyıl, Muhteşem Yüzyıl: Kösem, Dirilis Ertughrul, The Kazakh Khanate: Diamond Sword, 1453 & Rise of Ottoman (historical docudrama) from Netflix.
My next watchlist are: Kurulus Osman, The Imam, Rabee Qortoba
I am a big fan of Mehmed II so while I watch this series I was wondering and confuse, which part is the "propaganda" or "Fitna", is it because of Sultan Selim the Grim kill his relative? if that was the answer, then I suggest you all watch the Turkish sultanate drama series or learn history first. That thing is called Fratricide and it was ended in Sultan Ahmed I reign, henceforth Ottoman rulers would no longer execute their brothers.
IMO, the first time I learn the truth about fratricide in Ottoman Sultanate, I was shocked, and I can't believe it. But it doesn't make me disrespect/hate ottoman. I am still proud of Mehmed & Ottoman tho.
Also any Sultan or high official can be corrupt, wicked, etc but it doesn't mean we can hate the Sultanate.
Or are there any other reasons that I'm not aware of? I hope someone can enlighten me.
The story is quite good, but lacking more action :( I hope, there's more action in this series
