6.5 to 7.0. Pulp-fictionesque style good for renting at home. The plot is decent, the snowplows are awesome, as are the settings. But Liam, with the exception of the kid (Nicholas Holmes), has no chemistry with Laura Dern or any other characters. Same with Laura Dern - it's like she stopped in, acted and picked up a check. She isn't needed at all. But what did make this movie good was the great work by the supporting actors. Leslie MacInnes is excellent as an edgy, wacky egomaniac. Elizabeth Thai as the brothers' awesome Asian wife, William Forsythe as the rational gansta brother. Domenick Lombardozzi as the gay associate, and Emmy Rossum (the cop) and Glen Gould, Raoul Trujillo, Mitchell Saddleback and Tom Jackson did really well as the American Indian gangsters. They are all really very good and make it worth seeing. I also liked John Doman but he overacted in the small town cop role.
