Loved it. Once you get into the rythm - don't expect ripping bodices or long, lingering glances - it's hypnotic. At times it feels voyeuristic, seeing life in 1760s as it may well have been; raw and funny, with crushing poverty but a sense of community long since lost. It's a very different period drama but one which I hope will be repeated.

Loved, loved this series. Funny, irreverent, stark with plenty of pathos. Each character is beautifully written and acted. Daisy May is such a talent. Fingers crossed for series 2...
