Content:
A grandson lives with his grandmother who smokes( i didn’t quite like this part) his grandmother is a wonderful storyteller and used to be a witchopile ( a person that studies witches) She tells her grandson about witches, her grandson was flabbergasted and he didn’t believe her. Soon he believed her though and he started to work on a treehouse. When he was working on the treehouse, he recognised a witch and scuttled up the tree like a rocket. The witch had a snake. When the witch went away, he went to his grandmother. After that, they planned a trip to Norway, his grandmother talked all about it and it sounded very exiting but a terrible thing happened. Unfortunately his dear grandmother got pneumonia and they had to scrap their holiday. After that his grandmother got better and they were booked in Hotel Magnificent, Bournemouth. The grandson had a room for himself, his grandmother next door to him. His grandmother got pet mice for the boy (two to be exact) so he taught them tricks but he wasn’t allowed to keep them in the building with him or they would be drowned, so he tried to go to a different place. He saw a giant room and went inside. But then a very bad thing happened. To be continued…
Wrap up:
This is an excellent book that i really enjoyed reading. I couldn’t stop reading because i was very engrossed in the events as Roald Dahl is a wonderful author who wrote the story in an unexpected way, the scenes were very unique and went pretty fast. This book is very engaging and fun to read. I couldn’t put the book down!
