I knew once an African American family was finally portrayed on PBS (without the usual negative stereotypes) the reviews would be a mix of likes and mostly hateful comments. My 9 year old nephew loves Lyla in the Loop. Additionally, I find the program funny and engaging with a positive focus on STEM. Furthermore, while Lyla is dependent on STU, by the end of each episode, she understands how to focus and figure out the steps to a problem. For the ignorant review regarding the name of STU... Wow. I find myself wondering if the reviews would be full of negative feedback if the family were white. Did anyone complain about the Hispanic and Canadian girl (Martha Speaks) depending on a talking dog named Martha? Perhaps someone complained about the white man-in-the yellow hat on Curious George? A monkey performing chores and running around doing errands for individuals who were too busy to do it for themselves. Be honest with yourself. It's a children program on PBS- relax.
