This is a show that will never win any major laurels, but, nevertheless, it is fun and indicative of the term "guilty pleasure".
"Big Brother" began the same time as "Survivor" in 2000 and, although, the latter far surpassed the former, it is still a reality show where "houseguests" both mentally and physically try to outfox the other members of their group hoping to be the last person standing and claiming a grand prize of $750,000.
This show is more of a psychological exercise in seeing how people can survive together cut off from civilization in terms of all things media related, (i.e. no cell phone, TV, internet, etc.).
Cameras follow our guests 24-7 and we get to watch and hear everything said, shared, whispered, and revealed. There's also a diary room where the guests can go inside and purge their true feelings.
All in all, "Big Brother" is a good Summer reality show that extends into the Fall, but, once it's over, you can't wait for the next one.
