honestly, despite the ratings, I really enjoyed this movie. reading some of the comments, there were some things that stood out to me. some said that this movie was slow or it didn't have much character development, which is all valid responses. in my opinion, though, the movie is supposed to be based on the individual's self-worth and outlook on society, all these opinions aren't easy to steer clear from, especially when you're solidly believing that you're the scum of this planet, worthless, and with everyone else being better than you. these things take time to change, and personally, this slow pace was really nice to take in all the messages of ideally being contempt with what you have and just enjoying the little things that make everything worth seeing. nothing will be colossally different after the movie because it's hard to break from the idealistic mindset- albeit that they could've had a more positive ending. but by the end of the movie we see him that he's not very optimistic or sad, but just contempt. also some people also said that this movie was depressing... which is kinda the idea of this movie: self-loathing because of selfishness, arguably a value that some to this day have
