Best Western I've seen, ever, and yes I've watched Lonesome Dove. Cinematography and music are awesome (transcendently so). It's violent at times, but not too much. Better back story and more sympathetic towards Native Americans than most westerns. Emily Blunt is fantastic. The series plays as an intense drama but not overbearing.
