While the show was indeed entertaining, it left me yearning for a more elaborate portrayal. As someone who has delved deeply into Griselda's story over the years, I found that significant aspects were either left untold or merely glossed over. The show should have delved into the depths of her lunacy, showcasing her penchant for beheadings and the macabre practice of mailing heads to her adversaries. Picture motorcycle assassins unleashing chaos in nightclubs simply because she felt slighted, her chilling laughter at the demise of innocents, her numerous encounters with the notorious Pablo Escobar, and the ruthless massacre of an entire family over a debt she refused to repay. It seems the creators aimed to present her as more compassionate than reality dictated, toning down the violence despite their pedigree with "Narcos". Yet, it's precisely this excess of violence that makes her story so captivating.
Moreover, the show failed to capture the vast scale of her amassed wealth. Reports suggest she was raking in a staggering 5 million per day at one point. Additionally, the true depth of her relationship with Rivi was sidelined. They barely scratched the surface of how they met, and Rivi's role was not given the prominence it deserved.
Despite my critique, I must commend the overall effort. However, as someone well-versed in her narrative prior to viewing, I anticipated a more graphic depiction of violence and a richer storyline. It's an amazing job nonetheless.
P.S.: This is my FIRST TIME EVER reviewing any movie or show.
