Interesting research into the history of slavery in Mexico, but the author clearly has a theory and bends the facts and/or ignores contradictory facts to support her theory. She doesn’t allow the reader to draw a conclusion from the history presented; she repeats her own conclusion every few pages so as to not allow any deviation of thought.
