Disappointing.
Setting- loved the bleak, foreboding, ominous scenery.
Characters- there is little to help one understand the essence of the story.
Why? Is a question that comes to mind all through the movie.
Spoiler alert
Why does Harker not relate to the agent's daughter?
Why does she never smile except a couple of times, randomly, when on the phone to her mother?
What are the black fumes that emanate from the ball in the dolls'heads?
Why did the initial perpetrator shoot only the male agent and not Harker?
Why does mum haul out a swirly knife from her bag at the end? You can't stab people with that type of knife.
Why does Longlegs sing weird stuff? It doesn't relate to anything. Why does he kill people, with daughters who have birthdays on the 14th.
The triangle that is formed from the dates is just silly. If Harker or anyone else had used different spacing for the dates then she would not have formed a triangle.
Why is the one doll in a box in the barn, with cross clues leading to it?
Why does Longlegs let himself get caught and then kill himself?
Why didn't the mother just top longlegs off Yeats ago, as she had opportunity, instead of killing all those families.
To me there was no storyline. Just random events, thrown together as the producer thought they would look good, not because they would add to the storyline. Why include the daughter in the mental institution?
Lastly, why didn't Harker stop the FBI agent from killing his wife? Seriously, I could comment for the next hour.
