Hester Wentzel

This movie is nothing short of a slander of the Bronte family. The Bronte sisters were not remotely as portrayed. Charlotte was a devoted sister to Emily, and her words after Emily's death shows the depth of her understanding and appreciation of her sister's unique character unlike these ninnies who made some kind of clichéd Victorian bad girl movie with the normal clichéd portrayal of the clergy of the time. It is a despicable movie. If you want to make such a movie, don't drag the Brontes into it.

The movie is good. Haley Lu Richardson marvellously captures Louise Brookes's acerbic intelligence, magnetic personality and, unfortunately, rotten core. Elizabeth McGovern is very good, too, but still outplayed by Richardson.
