This album is an incredible experience.
The gimmick everyone talks about is the fact that it loops seamlessly. One thing to note is that if you buy it on vinyl, it fades in and out at the beginning and end of each side, so that it feels more seamless. This is a great touch and lets you enjoy the album as if side 2 was side 1, though the album is a little weaker if you do so.
One thing people talk about less is the songs themselves. Though it's very difficult to tell where a song ends and another begins, every song adds something. Whether it's the intense riffs of Robot Stop and Big Fig Wasp (which dip in later sometimes), the groove of Mr. Beat and Invisible Face, or the infectious time changes of People-Vultures and Gamma Knife, this album brings so much to the table at once.
One thing that the album suffers from is that sometimes a song can feel like it overstays its welcome. For example, Gamma Knife and People-Vultures have the same rhythmic concept behind them, and though they're quite distinct it can feel like that idea is staying longer than it needs to. This isn't enough to cost it a star though.
In conclusion, great. Worth multiple listens to catch all the motifs as well.
