I'm sorry, but I'm SUPER disappointed in this version of the show, for many reasons. I miss the "old" judges. I adore Twitch, but Jojo gets on my nerves for the entire show! Leah knows nothing about the art, so she has no more to offer than the average audience member. None of the judges are qualified to fairly rate the classically trained dancers, because unlike Nigel and Mary, they are not classically trained and they can't comment substantively, let alone constructively on the various styles. And the comments this season are not at all interesting or informative -- just white bread stuff and very repetitive. What happened to all the wonderful choreographers that used to be featured on the show??? You had the best with Travis, Tice, Nappy Tabs, and others, and I'm missing them VERY much! This season's choreographers have offered mostly uninspired pablum. I miss the big all-cast numbers that were such a hallmark of the show. And how about the mix with the returning dance pros?
This season feels like it's just going through the motions, with a hodge-podge of pieces, and while I still enjoy watching a couple of the dancers, I probably won't be watching future seasons. I find myself just not caring. That makes me sad, because this was my absolute FAVORITE show, and I loved it because it celebrated dance as a career -- and not what seems more of a hobby for untrained dancers, less talented choreographers, and less knowledgeable judges.
