I was actually surprised by this film. It is clearly Babadok inspired, however, that aside, it's a very creepy well made peice. The young actors are to be commended for their performance, along with Gillian Jacobs, who is the stand out performance. Younger audiences will probably enjoy this more then hard core horror fans.

Extremely well made and beautifully shot film. Creepy, dark and melancholic story. Acting is solid from all involved. However, the film is honestly very slow when trying to build tension. You can easily predict what will happen in most scenes, well before it does. Further, it just feels like the plot is "by the numbers" and despite some incredible FX work, there is just never any real tension even during the climatic scene.

This feels like they just needed a sequel and were happy to throw out anything. Just not as strong as the original.
