The main thing that strikes you about this book is that although a work of fiction, it comes across as a true story, because of the way the author has got into the skin of her characters. It's not just credible, it's so convincing that you are asking yourself if Catherine Ryan Howard, author and Eve Black, narrator in the story are one and the same.
The story is told from the point of view of Eve, the only survivor from the most horrific murder spree in the book and also from the point of view of the killer, in a way which gives an unusual and fascinating perspective.
Probably the most original, easy to read yet satisfying book I ve read this year. It is a page turner and one that will stay with you.
