Was excited for an upbeat bit of bubblegum pink escapism, just like what was shown ALL OVER the trailers. I think they pulled all those parts for the ads specifically, because the actual substance of the film is anything but enjoyable or captivating.
The other 1-star reviewers made the points already for me, no sense in regurgitating unpleasantness.
I think WB, Mattel, or whoever else was behind the advertising of this film already knew what a dud it would be if the advertising gave an accurate portrayal of the actual storyline.
Seriously, who wants to watch almost two hours of crying and fist-waving at society, all in bright pink?
Because it's interesting to me how the happiest, brightest, comedic soundbites are what made it into the ad campaign.
Almost like such people know what the public actually likes, and being preached to about how unfair and unequal life is, isn't it!!
Left the theater feeling down on myself and society in general. I REALLY don't think the movie making powers-that-be "got the assignment".
