For starters, I Have owned and used this study Bible for over 10 years. The ESV translation is a very good translation: its in my top 2 or 3. Secondly, I don't know if this is still true, when you a purchase the ESV Study Bible you get an online account which has the study Bible online for you to use, read etc.. This is huge, a game changer because when you are preparing a lesson, sermon, et al., you can cut and paste notes into. document. The scholarship is first rate and the notes are easily understood. The introductions to sections, individual books of the Bible, and outlines are wonderful: don't overlook them, it's why you bought a study Bible. Someone has said it's about like having a Bachelor's degree in Bible. would agree if you would. study it carefully and add Biblical languages. ( I have a Master of Divinity with Biblical Languages and a Bachelor of Arts in Bible.)
