Terry Hayman

Wonderful emotional honesty in Halle Berry's acting and direction. A nice fresh take in a movie genre filled with formulaic, underdeveloped characters. I feel the script missed an opportunity to further explore the socioeconomic abuse layer introduced in the opening scene, but the main character's struggle to get her life back on track was beautifully done.

Decent acting. Some nice cinematography and costumes. Hamstrung by a weak script and terrible ending.
