Rusty Runs Away, a novella of Ruskin Bond, is based on his real life. Rusty's mother got divorce from her husband and married to someone else. She wanted to look after Rusty, but he didn't like to reared up anywhere else except his paternal hostage. Unluckily, Rusty's father passed away when he was seven and left him alone in this dark world. Mr Harrison, his father's cousin and Mrs Harrison looked after un - lovingly. He was lover of natural beauties --- like flowers, plants, mountains, fog, moist, lakes, rivers etc. One day, at seventeen years of Rusty Mr Harrison broke into a torrent of words once again and said to him, "How can you call yourself an Englishman? How can you come back to this house in such a condition? In what gutter, in what brothel have you been! Have you seen yourself? Do you know what you look?"(page 155) . Rusty was feeling too much torment and turmoil by mind . He slapped his guardian's face. He held his guardian by the throat. (Page 157).

Somi sustains to provide him a job of getting earn by tutoring English to Kishen, the son to Mr Kapoor. Rusty's statement is given below-- While I walked back to Somi-s house, I dwelt on my relationship with Kishan, but my tongue, when I loosened it in Somi's presence, dwelt on Meena Kapoor. And when I lay down to sleep, I saw her in my mind's eye, and for the first time took conscious note of her beauty, of her warmth and softness, and made up my mind that I would fall in love with her.
