Season 1 of The GFE was, while sometimes shaky, quite good, which makes me wonder if Amy Seimetz was largely responsible for the best of it. Because season 2 is incredibly awful, largely due to the writing. In the first season, Kerrigan and Seimetz co-wrote most of the scripts, with Seimetz writing one or two on her own. In the second season, they split the duties. And the worst of always happened when co-creator Lodge Kerrigan wrote the script. Between characters that act as if they are characters in a parady of bad art films: seriously dumb behavior, tons of cliche lines; and all the women who desire other women have no, or very few, redeeming qualities. Which leads to another criticism of the series as a whole: Seimetz AND Kerrigan seem to believe that anyone working as a sexworker is doing so ONLY because they have had serious psychological issues and been involved with criminals, white collar and otherwise. BOTH filmmakers should sit down and watch "Satisfaction" (an Australian series about sex workers) some time. After that, they should make a point of actually talking to some actual sex workers.
